Honda Crossroad road tax, COE and insurance costs in Singapore

How much a Honda Crossroad 18L costs to keep in Singapore: road tax, its Category B COE and dated car insurance prices for several drivers.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

A Honda Crossroad is a used car in Singapore today: it has no entry on the current new-car list. If you run one, or are thinking of it, the yearly costs are what you can budget for. This page covers road tax, the COE category and car insurance, with the figures our price page holds.

Every insurance price here is an example for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They help you see the range. They are not a quote.

Two versions on the quote form

Our quote form lists:

  • Crossroad 18L: 1,799cc
  • Crossroad 20X: 1,997cc

The figures on this page are for the 18L, the version most of our insurers quote. The 20X has a larger engine, so its road tax is higher and its premium can differ. With no new-car listing, there is no list price to show.

The COE it needs

With a 1,799cc engine, above 1,600cc, the Crossroad 18L needs a Category B COE. That comes straight from the price page.

Category B closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round. Buying used, you inherit the car's existing COE. How many years it has left decides how long the car can stay on the road before you must renew or deregister it. The COE page lists each round's results.

Road tax for the 18L

LTA's formula gives S$976.32 a year for a 1,799cc engine, before any age surcharge.

Cars older than 10 years pay a surcharge on top:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

A Crossroad on the used market may already be in one of these bands. Check the registration date, then work out the band from the list above. The road tax page has the figure for the 20X's engine.

Insurance: who prices it and for how much

The Honda Crossroad price page prices these details:

  • Car: Crossroad 18L, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

14 insurers price the Crossroad, and two on our panel have no online price. The lowest premium is S$764.82. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,406.26. That is S$641.44 more, or 84% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

The page lists 22 plans, because several insurers offer more than one. A basic plan and a fuller plan from the same insurer can be far apart in price. Read what each covers before comparing them.

Excess

The excess is the amount you pay on each claim before cover starts. Here most plans set S$600, and others S$500, S$750 or S$800. Several set S$2,500 or S$3,000.

One of the lowest few premiums on the page comes with a S$2,500 excess. Compare that with a plan a little dearer but with a S$600 excess. The gap in excess may outweigh the gap in premium if you claim.

How the price moves

Change one detail and the lowest premium becomes:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,093.14, S$328.32 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,093.14, S$328.32 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,093.14, S$328.32 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$764.82, the same
  • New car, registered this year: S$787.96, S$23.14 more
  • Car 8 years old: S$700.28, S$64.54 less

The NCD makes the biggest difference: with none, the lowest premium is 43% higher. The other two higher-risk profiles reach the same figure.

Car age moves the price only slightly. An older Crossroad costs a little less to insure at the lowest price, and a new one a little more. The driver aged 65 pays the same as the driver aged 40. These are lowest prices only; dearer plans may move by other amounts.

Compared with similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page sets the Crossroad against six cars:

Their average lowest price is S$741.89. The Crossroad is 3% above it, and four of the six are cheaper to insure. Only the two German cars cost more. Other Honda models are on the Honda car insurance page. To see which models cost least to insure across makes, use the ranking page.

The costs that are down to you

These depend on how you live and drive, so there is no fixed figure.

  • Parking: season parking at your block or condo, plus parking at work and in town.
  • Petrol: depends on your mileage and pump prices.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and the times you travel.
  • Servicing and repairs: routine servicing, plus tyres, brakes and a battery. On an older car, ask for its service history.
  • Depreciation: depends on what you pay and the COE life remaining.

Summary of the yearly figures

  • Road tax: S$976.32 a year before any age surcharge (LTA's formula, checked 2026-10-19)
  • Insurance, standard driver: from S$764.82 a year (20 October 2026)
