Perodua Bezza Premium X in Singapore, road tax and insurance costs

The Perodua Bezza Premium X 1.3 in Singapore: road tax, COE category and dated insurance prices, 24% below the average of six similar cars.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Perodua Bezza Premium X 1.3 has a small engine and, for an experienced driver, one of the lower lowest premiums among the cars it is compared with. This guide sets out its road tax, COE category and car insurance figures. It also shows how the price moves for other drivers.

All insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They are not your quote.

The Bezza we price

Our quote form prices the Bezza Premium X 1.3, with a 1,329cc engine. It is the version most insurers quote, and the only one here.

The new-car list read for this guide has no entry for the Bezza Premium X on sale now. So there is no list price, power figure or body type.

COE

For the Bezza Premium X 1.3, with its 1,329cc engine, the category depends on power:

  • Category A: 97kW (130bhp) or less. S$130,001 in the October 2026 1st round.
  • Category B: more than that. S$130,100 in the same round.

On a used car, the COE goes with the car until it expires. The COE page has the latest results.

Road tax

LTA's formula gives the 1,329cc engine S$583.96 a year before any age surcharge. That was checked on 2026-10-19.

The surcharge for older cars:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The road tax page has the formula, and shows how the figure changes with engine size.

Car insurance for the standard driver

The Perodua Bezza Premium X price page prices this case:

  • Car: Bezza Premium X 1.3, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons

11 insurers price it, across 16 plans. The lowest premium is S$569.36, on a plan that allows any workshop or an authorised one. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,136.80. That is S$567.44 more, or 100% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Put plainly, the dearest insurer's lowest plan costs twice the lowest. Five insurers on the panel have no online price for this model, so the field is narrower than for many cars.

Excess

Ten of the 16 plans carry an S$600 excess. Two carry S$500 and three S$800. One carries none. No plan here asks for more than S$800.

The second-lowest premium, S$732.08, carries an S$500 excess. Four plans are estimates, so their price may change once your details are in.

When one thing changes

The price page shows the lowest price with one change at a time:

  • No NCD (0%): S$892.69, S$323.33 more
  • 20% NCD: S$892.69, S$323.33 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years of driving, 30% NCD: S$892.69, S$323.33 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years of driving: S$569.36, the same
  • New car, registered this year: S$586.41, S$17.05 more
  • Car 8 years old: S$545.00, S$24.36 less

The NCD is the main lever: with none, the lowest price is 57% higher. A 27-year-old with 30% NCD pays the same figure.

A 65-year-old with a long record pays the same as the standard driver, though only ten insurers quote that case. An older car costs a little less to insure at the lowest price, and a new one a little more.

These are lowest prices only. Dearer plans can move by other amounts.

Against similar cars

The price page compares six cars with similar engines, same driver and car age:

Their average lowest price is S$753.91. The Bezza Premium X is 24% below it, and none of the six is cheaper to insure. The Sienta comes closest. Other Perodua models are on the Perodua car insurance page, and the cheapest cars to insure page lists more.

Pros and cons on insurance cost

  • For: well below all six similar cars at the lowest price
  • For: excesses no higher than S$800
  • Against: five insurers have no online price
  • Against: losing your NCD adds S$323.33 at the lowest price

Costs that depend on you

These vary from owner to owner:

  • Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, plus parking elsewhere
  • Petrol: your mileage and the pump price
  • ERP: your routes and travel times
  • Servicing and parts: ask how easily parts can be found, and for the service record
  • Depreciation: what you pay against the COE years left

Before you buy

  • COE expiry date: and the years left
  • Registration date: it sets the road tax surcharge band
  • Service history: what has been replaced and what is due
  • Your own quotes: with five insurers not pricing it online, compare all that do
