The insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They help you compare. They are not a quote.

COE
For the 1,598cc JCW, the category turns on power. It needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less, and a Category B COE if it is more.
In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. The price page does not set out a category for the current versions, so confirm with the dealer. The COE page has the latest.
Road tax
LTA's formula gives the 1,598cc engine S$741.72 a year, before any age surcharge.
Past 10 years, the surcharge applies:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%

Insurance for the stated driver
The MINI John Cooper Works price page prices this example:

- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims

10 insurers price it. Six on our panel do not. The lowest premium is S$865.42 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$2,896.34. That is S$2,030.92 more, or 235% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
That is more than three times from the bottom to the top. Most plans sit in a band well below the top, so the spread comes mainly from one plan. Still, only comparing shows you where each price sits. Some prices shown are estimates.
Excess
The lowest plan carries S$600, as most here do. Others carry S$500 or S$800. One has none, and one asks S$2,500. Read the excess with each premium.
Plan levels and dates
Several insurers list a basic plan and a fuller one. Compare like with like. Each price shows the date it was read; the lowest was read more than a week ago.
