The Chery QQ has a 1,051cc engine, one of the smallest on our quote form. Its small engine keeps road tax low. If you are thinking of a used one, this page shows what else it costs to keep, starting with car insurance.
Every insurance figure is an example for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. It is not a quote, and your price will depend on your own details.
The car priced
The new-car list has no entry for this model on sale now. So there is no list price, power or body type here.
Our quote form prices the Chery QQ with a 1,051cc engine. It is the version most of our insurers quote.
Car insurance
The driver and car
The Chery QQ price page prices one set of details:
- Car: registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no options
The prices
11 insurers price the QQ for that driver. The lowest premium is S$545.00 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,133.61. That is S$588.61 more, or 108% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
So the dearest is more than twice the lowest, for the same car. Five insurers on our panel have no online price for this model.
Excess
Most plans set a S$600 excess. Others set S$500, S$750 or S$800. Two set S$2,500 and one S$3,000. One plan has no excess.
On an older car, a S$2,500 or S$3,000 excess could cover much of a typical repair. Check it before you choose a plan on price alone.
Changes that move the price
The price page shows the lowest price when one detail differs:
- No NCD (0%): S$894.72, S$349.72 more
- 20% NCD: S$894.72, S$349.72 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$894.72, S$349.72 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$545.00, the same
- A new car, registered this year: S$552.91, S$7.91 more
- A car 8 years old: S$545.00, the same
The NCD drives the price. Without it, the lowest price rises by 64%. A young driver with a short record, or a 20% NCD, lands on the same figure.
Other changes barely matter. An older driver pays the same, and so does an 8-year-old car. A new car costs only S$7.91 more.
These are lowest prices. Other plans may change differently.
The COE
With a 1,051cc engine, the Chery QQ needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less. It needs a Category B COE if its power is more.
Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round. These change at every bidding round, and the COE page has the latest.
For a car of the QQ's age, the COE years left are often the deciding factor. They set how long the car can stay on the road, and much of what it is worth.
Road tax
For a 1,051cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$420.92 a year, checked on 2026-10-19. That is before any age surcharge, and it is among the lower road tax sums for a petrol car.
An older QQ may pay more, as the surcharge starts after 10 years:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
The road tax page has the sums for other engine sizes.
What else to look at in a quote
The premium is the headline, but a few other terms shape what you get:
- Where repairs happen: these prices are for an authorised workshop. A plan that allows any workshop may be priced differently.
- Who drives: adding a younger or newer driver can raise the premium.
- NCD protection: an optional extra on some plans. Ask what it costs.
- The excess: the amount you pay on each claim.
Against similar cars
For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:
- Toyota C-HR: S$552.91
- Nissan Kicks e-Power: S$590.12
- Mitsubishi Attrage: S$622.34
- Audi A1: S$660.69
- Audi Q2: S$660.69
- Chevrolet Aveo: S$586.41
Their average is S$612.19. The QQ is 11% below that, and none of the six is cheaper to insure. The Toyota C-HR comes closest.
Other Chery models are on the Chery car insurance page. The cheapest cars to insure page ranks models across makes.
Costs that depend on you
These costs have no single figure:
- Parking: HDB or condo season parking, plus parking at work and when you go out.
- Petrol: depends on how far you drive and the pump price.
- ERP: depends on routes and hours.
- Parts and servicing: for an older car from a smaller make, ask how easy parts are to find. Tyres, brakes and a battery still come due.
- Depreciation: mostly tied to the COE years left.
The figures at a glance
For the Chery QQ (1,051cc), dated as shown:

- Insurance, no NCD: from S$894.72
