This list is for buyers in Singapore who need seven seats and want to compare costs before visiting a showroom. It covers eight MPVs on sale. Each one is ordered by today's lowest comprehensive premium on its price page, lowest first. The list sticks to cost facts: list prices, road tax and premiums.

How to read the figures

The premiums come from each car's price page. They are for one standard driver:

  • aged 40 and married
  • driving for 10 to 19 years
  • a 50% no-claim discount
  • a 3-year-old car
  • comprehensive cover

Treat them as today's examples, not as what you will pay. Your own quote depends on your age, driving record, NCD and the car you pick.

List prices are as listed on 10 October 2026, including COE that day. COE premiums change with each bidding exercise. So the price at the showroom may not match the figure here. Ask the seller what the price includes on the day you buy.

Road tax figures are yearly amounts for each car. LTA sets road tax rules, and the OneMotoring site has the details for your own car.

How to choose between them

The eight cars fall into rough groups on cost. Compare each part of the cost on its own, then add them up for the versions you like.

List price. The Freed, Sienta and BYD M6 have the lowest listed starting prices here: S$183,900, S$186,700 and S$187,888. The Voxy and Odyssey sit in the middle, listed from S$216,100 and S$237,500. The Carnival, Alphard and Vellfire are listed from S$298,999, S$310,000 and S$321,500. Remember these prices include COE as on 10 October 2026.

Road tax. The Sienta and Freed share the lowest figure on the list, S$681.90 a year. The Voxy follows at S$973.98. The Alphard has the highest, at S$1,790.38. The BYD M6 is taxed on its 100kW rating, at S$1,501.56. For how road tax is worked out, see our road tax guide.

Premium. Today's example premiums run from S$13.71 for the BYD M6 to S$30.34 for the Voxy. The order does not follow list price. The Voxy is listed below the Alphard, but its example premium is higher. Some cars tie: the Sienta and Freed both show S$18.27, and the Alphard and Vellfire both show S$23.14. For how electric and petrol cars compare on cover, see electric vs petrol car insurance.

Choice of insurers. Each car has between 22 and 27 insurers quoting. A longer list gives you more prices to compare for the same car.

Seats and versions. Not every version name says 7-Seater. Check the seat count and layout of the exact version before you compare prices.

Parking. Some MPVs are large. Check that the car fits your HDB or condo parking space and any height limit. These facts do not cover size.

Questions to ask before you sign

  • Does the quoted price include COE, and how long does that price hold?
  • Which version, seat count and power train is the price for?
  • What road tax applies to this exact version? OneMotoring has the details.
  • What is the policy excess? See our guide to car insurance excess.
  • Can repairs go to any workshop, or only an authorised one? See authorised or any workshop.
  • Will your NCD carry over? See our no-claim discount guide.

Your own premium can differ a lot from the examples above. Younger drivers, for example, often see different prices; see car insurance for young drivers. To compare more cars side by side, visit our car insurance prices page.
