Geely CK costs in Singapore, from road tax to car insurance

Running costs of a Geely CK 1.5 in Singapore: road tax, the COE rule for its engine and dated car insurance prices for several drivers.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Geely CK is a less common sight in Singapore, and fewer insurers price it online than many other models. That makes it worth checking costs before you take one on. This page lays out what we can put figures on: road tax, the COE rule and car insurance.

Every insurance figure is an example for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Your own premium depends on your age, record and car, so treat these as a guide.

The version priced

The Geely CK has no entry on the current new-car list. There is no list price to give, and any CK you buy now is used.

Our insurers quote it as the Geely CK 1.5, with a 1,498cc engine. Every figure below is for that version.

COE and the 1.5's engine

The price page sets out the rule. With a 1,498cc engine, the Geely CK 1.5 needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less. If its power is more, it needs a Category B COE.

In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. For a used car, the COE it carries shows how long it can stay on the road. The COE page lists each round.

Road tax

LTA's formula ties road tax to engine size. For the CK's 1,498cc engine, it is S$683.08 a year, before any age surcharge.

Older cars pay a surcharge on top:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

Check the registration date of any CK you consider, since it sets which step applies. The surcharge is paid on top of the base tax each year. The road tax page covers other engine sizes.

Insurance: fewer insurers, wide range

The Geely CK price page prices these details:

  • Car: Geely CK 1.5, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving for 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: at an authorised workshop, no options

9 insurers price the CK on those details. Seven insurers on our panel have no online price for it. With fewer prices to choose from, each one counts for more.

The lowest premium is S$586.41. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,191.11. That is S$604.70 more, or 103% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Check the excess

The excess is what you pay yourself when you claim. Most plans here set S$600 or S$500, and the estimated plans set S$800. A few plans carry S$2,500 or S$3,000.

Those large excesses sit on plans in the middle and upper part of the range. Before you compare premiums, line up the excess on each one.

How the price moves

The price page changes one detail at a time. The lowest premium then reads:

  • No NCD (0%): S$941.37, S$354.96 more
  • 20% NCD: S$941.37, S$354.96 more
  • A driver aged 27 with 3 years' driving and 30% NCD: S$941.37, S$354.96 more
  • A driver aged 65 with 20 or more years' driving: S$586.41, the same
  • A new car, registered this year: S$604.07, S$17.66 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$545.00, S$41.41 less

The no-NCD case costs the most. It lifts the lowest price by 61%. A 20% NCD and the younger driver both arrive at that same higher figure.

The car's age has a small effect. An 8-year-old CK costs a little less to insure at the lowest price, and a new one a little more. Dearer plans may change by different amounts, so look at the plan you want, not only the lowest.

Similar cars for comparison

For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:

Their average lowest price is S$735.99. The CK sits 20% below it, and none of the six is cheaper to insure. Bear in mind the CK has fewer insurers pricing it than any of these cars. That limits your choice of plans and cover. See the Geely car insurance page for other Geely models, or the list of cars that cost least to insure.

Costs that depend on how you use the car

Some costs vary from owner to owner, so we give no figures.

  • Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, plus work and town parking.
  • Petrol: depends on your distance and the pump price.
  • ERP: depends on where and when you drive.
  • Servicing and repairs: regular servicing plus tyres, brakes and a battery over time. For a less common make, ask where parts and servicing are available before you buy.
  • Depreciation: what the car loses depends on what you pay and the COE life left.

Summary of yearly costs we can show
