Chrysler 300 in Singapore, the cost of road tax, COE and insurance

What a Chrysler 300 3.6 costs to keep in Singapore: road tax for 3,518cc, a Category B COE and dated insurance prices from three insurers.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Chrysler 300 has a 3.6-litre engine, and in Singapore that makes it a costly car to keep. Road tax alone runs into the thousands each year. Only a few insurers price it online. This page puts figures on what can be counted.

Every insurance figure is an example for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. It is not a quote. With so few prices to go on, your own quote may differ a good deal.

The car on our form

The new-car list has no entry for this model on sale now. There is no list price, power or body type on this page.

Our quote form prices the Chrysler 300 3.6, with a 3,518cc engine. It is the version most of our insurers quote.

Road tax: the biggest yearly cost

For a 3,518cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$3,195.26 a year. That was checked on 2026-10-19 and is before any age surcharge.

That sum is due every year, whatever you drive. On an older car it climbs:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

So check the registration date before you agree a price. The road tax page shows how other engine sizes compare.

The COE

With a 3,518cc engine, above 1,600cc, the Chrysler 300 3.6 needs a Category B COE. In the October 2026 1st round, Category B closed at S$130,100.

The figure changes every bidding round; the COE page has the latest. On a used car, the years left on the COE count for more than the price of a new one.

Car insurance

The standard profile

The Chrysler 300 price page prices:

  • Car: Chrysler 300 3.6, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

Only three prices

Just 3 insurers price the Chrysler 300 for that driver. The lowest premium is S$1,859.03 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$2,591.25. That is S$732.22 more, or 39% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Thirteen insurers on our panel have no online price for this model. For a car like this, you may need to ask insurers directly. Expect fewer choices than for a mainstream model.

The excess

The three plans set different excesses: S$500 on one, S$600 on another, and none on the third.

With so few plans, each difference matters. Weigh the excess with the premium.

How the price moves

The price page shows the lowest price with one change:

  • No NCD (0%): S$3,459.23, S$1,600.20 more
  • 20% NCD: S$2,980.27, S$1,121.24 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$5,059.86, S$3,200.83 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$2,156.10, S$297.07 more
  • A new car, registered this year: S$1,952.99, S$93.96 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$1,813.36, S$45.67 less

The changes here are large. A young driver pays 172% more at the lowest price. That is close to three times the page's lowest figure.

Losing the NCD almost doubles the price too. The older driver also pays more, and only 2 insurers price that case.

Car age matters least. An 8-year-old car is a little cheaper to insure.

These are lowest prices. With only three insurers, they may also shift quickly if one changes its rates.

What to check in a quote

With few options, read each plan closely:

  • Workshop: these prices assume an authorised workshop. Ask whether any-workshop cover is offered and at what price.
  • Named drivers: given the young-driver figure above, check how each plan prices extra drivers.
  • NCD protection: an extra some plans offer.
  • Excess: what you pay on each claim.

Against similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:

Their average is S$1,242.89. The Chrysler 300 costs 50% more than that, and all 6 are cheaper to insure.

Each of those cars has more insurers pricing it. That may be part of why their lowest prices sit lower. Other Chrysler models are on the Chrysler car insurance page, and the cheapest cars to insure page ranks models across makes.

Costs that depend on you

These have no single figure:

  • Parking: HDB or condo season parking, plus elsewhere. Check that your usual lots suit the car.
  • Petrol: a 3.6-litre engine, your distance and the pump price.
  • ERP: your routes and hours.
  • Parts and servicing: for a model few insurers price, ask how parts are sourced and how long they take. Tyres, brakes and a battery come due.
  • Depreciation: for a used car, mostly the COE years left and what the car will fetch.

The yearly figures

For the Chrysler 300 3.6 (3,518cc), dated as shown:

  • Road tax: S$3,195.26 a year before any age surcharge (LTA's formula, checked 2026-10-19)
  • Insurance, standard driver: from S$1,859.03 a year (20 October 2026)
  • Insurance, no NCD: from S$3,459.23
  • Insurance, driver aged 27: from S$5,059.86
  • Insurance, a car 8 years old: from S$1,813.36

A fresh Category B COE closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round.
